Architecture
The terraces here are four hundred years old and listed, so the house had to be built within an existing footprint and could not go above the height of the olive canopy. That gave us a low, long courtyard plan with a 2.6-metre ceiling — modest by the standards of this collection, and much the better for it. The reveals are 600 mm deep, which puts the glass entirely in shadow from June to September.
